In the coming years, the transportation of LNG, or liquefied natural gas, is set to parallel the rise in natural gas in global energy output. Adjacent to production sites, specialized plants liquefy natural gas by reducing its temperature to about -160°C.LNG tankers then transport it to regions where it will be consumed. To convert natural gas into LNG, or liquefied natural gas, it must be cooled to about -160°C, varying slightly depending on gas quality.
