This video provides a review of the mechanism of the robinson annulation reaction. It provides plenty of synthesis examples and practice problems. It also includes two assymetric retrosynthesis examples as well. The first step is a michael addition reaction between a michael acceptor and donor which produces a 1,5 dicarbonyl compound followed by the base catalyzed robinson annulation reaction which usually produces a cyclic 6 carbon ring contained an alpha beta unsaturated ketone.
