In this video explains Daniel cell - Among the galvanic cell when cell is designed in such a manner to make the use of spontaneous reaction between zinc and copper ions to produce an electric current, the cell is called Daniel cell. - In Daniel cell the anode is made up of Zn rod dipped in solution of ZnSO4 and cathode is made up of Cu rod dipped in CuSO4 solution. - Current in the external circuit flows from Cu electrode to Zn - electrode +ve to – ve electrode - Zn rod losses its mass while Cu rod gains it mass and the concentration of ZnSO4 solution increases while that of Cu SO4 decreases. - Zn metal is oxidized at anode and Cu+2 ions are reduced at cathode. - Oxidation occurs in oxidation half cell and reduction occurs in reduction half cell.
