This video explains golden rain : First, an aqueous solution of potassium iodide is prepared. some lead(II) nitrate solution is added. A yellow precipitate of lead(II) iodide is formed. some extra distilled water is added and the liquid is mixed. Heating the solution will cause the precipitate to dissolve. The liquid is allowed to cool down, causing the lead(II) iodide to crystallize. Golden flakes of lead(II) iodide appear.
