Pipeline : Carries petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL) from drilling locations to refineries. water, in small amounts, is present in the POL. Various kinds of salts are often present in this water. Over time, sludge builds up in the bottom of the pipe. The salt in the sludge creates corrosive environments that damage the pipeline.
